Give it a trim!

It can be trimmed to keep shape but wear gloves and be careful to avoid getting its milky latex sap on you, as it is an irritant.

It can reach up to 6ft

Unlike true cacti, euphorbia are slightly faster growing and it can reach up to 6ft indoors…repot yours when needed, and at some point, you could end up with a giant!

Rotate often

It is worth rotating your plant occasionally, which will allow for consistent growth.

Care tips

Light: Loves bright light - ideally, not too much direct sun, which could scorch it. A spot near a western, southern or eastern window would be completely ideal. Not suited to shade.

Water: Allow soil to try out before watering, as too much water will rot its roots.

Humidity: Prefers drier spaces. Average home humidity is fine but perhaps keep in living room/bedroom spaces in preference over kitchen/bathroom, which tend to be steamier.

Temperature: The Pencil Cactus prefers temperatures of between 15-26°C. Keep away from chilly draughts.
