Alocasia can sometimes go dormant over winter and lose some (or all) of their leaves, if they are left in low temperatures. This just means it is effectively ‘sleeping’, but don’t worry, the Dragon will awaken in spring with new growth.

Very rarely, the Alocasia Dragon Scale might flower with an unusual looking bloom.

Toxic to humans, cats and dogs, keep this beauty out of reach of children.
Native to Borneo, they grow under dappled light in the rainforest understory.
Alocasia’s are part of the Araceae family.
Toxic to people and pets.
Other common names include: Alocasia Dragon Scale, silver dragon, elephants ears, african silver mask.

Light: Silver Dragon Alocasia prefer bright indirect light to dappled light. Direct sunlight will scorch leaves, and it’s not suited to full shade.
Water: Water when the top layer of soil is dry, ensuring thorough drainage so that the roots don’t sit getting damp.
Humidity: Loves humidity! Mist regularly, place close to other plants or on a pebble tray.
Temperature: The Silver Dragon prefers warm environments of between 16-27°C to thrive. Keep away from draughts and cold spots, but also from radiators which will dry it out.
