The furry rhizomes absorb nutrients and moisture from the air, and new fronds will grow from them.

Never bury the rhizomes if repotting - they are designed to grow over the soil surface and will rot if underground.

Very slow-growing, the Rabbits Foot would eventually reach around 50cm in height as a houseplant.
Native to Fiji, the Rabbits Foot Fern grows on trees and in crevices of rocks as well as along the rainforest floor. This means it is tolerant of some shade.
Other common names include: White Rabbit Foot Fern, Humata Tyermannii ‘bunny’

Light: Tolerant of various light conditions - from bright indirect light (although not direct sunshine, which will scorch its delicate leaves!) to shadier spots.
Water: Keep reasonably moist. Allow the top inch or so of soil to dry out between waterings. Mist the rhizomes regularly.
Humidity: Love humidity and will be happiest in a bathroom or kitchen (although that doesn’t mean you need to avoid other spaces!). Mist leaves regularly or place on a pebble tray.
Temperature: The Rabbits Foot prefers temperatures of between16-24 °C to thrive. Ideally, no cooler than 12°C. Avoid draughts and also radiators!
